Virginia “Babe” Zocher, age 84, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at McLaren Hospital in Flint.  Virginia was born on December 30, 1932 in Detroit, the daughter of Leola Peters.  She married Adolph A. Zocher on August 20, 1948.  Mr. Zocher passed away on May 8, 1979.

     Virginia lived in the Mt. Pleasant area for 25 years.  She was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe, the Women’s Auxiliary VFW 3033 and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Woodhaven, Michigan.  Virginia loved swimming, traveling, and especially her children and grandchildren.

     Virginia is survived by her children, Valerie Zocher of Southgate, MI, Douglas Zocher of Romulus, Lawrence (Jane) Zocher of Dearborn Heights, David Zocher of Taylor, Naomi (Harold) Staggs of Flat Rock, Belinda Land of Mt. Pleasant, Eric Zocher of Allen Park, Caroline (Vincent) Trevino of Mt. Pleasant, and William (Angela) Zocher of Southgate, MI; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a niece, Linda Trombly of California.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adolph, a son, Michael, and a sister, Marcella.

     Funeral services for Virginia will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Robert Pego officiating.  The family will greet friends on Monday, August 28 from 12 Noon till the time of the services at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at Oakridge Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan
